A very large and ususual book of Dresdener Galerie embossed illustrations. The cover is wood covered with leather over top. There are two large brass hinging locks on side. Each page and illustration is gold framed. Each illustration is individually ebossed with: E.O. Brockmanns Nachfolger Dresden Photographie. The binding is in tack. There is wear to the leather with some pieces missing. There are a total of 40 illustrations in the book and 8 blank frames with missing subjects. There are a range of themes...the 18th century country side, people, nudity, and religious themes. Each illustration is titled, in German, as to the place and/or name of subject. Measures 16.5 inches high, 12 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. A large impressive book filled with historical impressions of the 18th century.
