For years, Stilton, the famous veined blue cheese of England, has been cherished to the point that a special Jasperware dish was created to house this delicacy. This dish is an excellent Stilton Cheese Dome, often used now for serving any type of cheese or other appetiser. Beautiful Wedgewood blue, with leaves, trees, and acorn design. Dome and plate in very good order, except for slight chip on the acorn atop the cover. Measures 7 inches in total height, 10.5 inces in diameter. Marks: number "2" inside the lid. Circa mid-1800's.
