Elegant Bird's Eye Maple Writing Desk. Five drawers. Top has recessed gold tooled writing leather. Turned and fluted legs with original brass locks and key. Brass lock's marks: Gillows Lance, Pattent Sever. Tongue and groove. No apparent defects or repairs. In very good condition (scuffs to leather but smooth writing surface). Measures 53.5 inches wide, 22.5 inches deep, and 29.5 inches high. Circa 1860.
